THE BEGINNING
As it has been sometime since I've made a post, I've decided to use my blog for school. I'm entering my first semester at San Jose State University for their School of Library and Information Science program. I get to learn all kinds of great things to prepare myself to become a librarian after working hard for the Los Angeles Public Library system for roughly 3 years now. I am as excited as can be, however, I'm still very nervous. I've taken community college courses here and there since I graduated in 2011, but I haven't taken on a heavy load of courses while working at the same time before. It should be both challenging and rewarding. Here we go!
Snowy solution!
A while back, I made a post about dandruff. Yes, I had it really bad at one point and it was totally embarrassing and frustrating to deal with. I didn't even like to wear my hair down for months! But finally, I found a solution for me which is that new shampoo line called Clear. I'd hate to advertise, but that stuff seriously worked for me. It worked so well that even if I don't use it, I have zero dandruff. Now I can say that I'm to wear my hair down whenever I want.
Oh yea, and I finally got the guts to cut off my hair in June and donate it! Should have documented this earlier, but it's here now! Go me for donating basically a foot of hair.

San Fran
A couple of weeks ago, Nick and I went on a short trip to San Francisco. Since I'm getting very much over sharing all of my pictures on Facebook, I thought this would be a perfect time to just share a few from the trip here. We didn't explore San Francisco as much as I would have liked, but I think all in all we've had the best time there yet.
Of course, we were always finding weird things like this missing cat sign. Reads, "Bento, Adult male, has a brownish-gray coat, is super friendly, and Has four eyes." It was an ad for an artist's exhibit, but still super funny.

| Clam chowder!! It's the best. |
We grabbed a bowl of our favorite non-traditional clam chowder and grilled cheese sandwich at
We also spent some time with a friend we hadn't seen in FOUR years and meet another in person. We had a great Austrian dinner at Leopold's on Polk Street. I would move to San Fran just to be able to eat here all the time.
Instead of shopping or tourist type things (which I didn't want to drag Nick through anyway), we walked A LOT and to no particular place. By doing this, I can honestly say that I fell in love with what the city really has to offer.
On our last morning, our feet were a bit tired, and I really wanted to
eat brunch, but things didn't turn out. We ended up walking around
looking for an ATM and had breakfast at a little spot called Golden Coffee. Nothing crazy, just blueberry pancakes made by this guy in a tiny cafe.

Failure to Snip
Last Friday was National Donate Your Hair Day, and I vowed to snip mine off. But I failed to do so! After doing some last minute research, I found out that I need to donate at least 10 inches of hair in order for a decent wig can be made. Sadly, my hair isn't quite long enough yet for me to cut it to a comfortable length. I would've had to cut my hair to my chin instead of my top of my shoulders, and that just gets me antsy. (I have a fairly large sized head and a long face, so I'm not really sure if really short do's will look good on me.) But I will donate soon enough! I bought some Biotin supplements today (only a 1,000 mg dose because I heard if you take too much it can really harm our health.) I'm hoping to get to the ideal donating length by the beginning of June. If anyone is reading this, do you have a big and medium to short hair? I also have lazy waves and very think hair and hoping I won't have triangle head after the snip...

Cookies
So recently, my best friend was having a bad day, I was down on myself about not being thin enough, still having acne in my 20's (I thought that was supposed to go away already!!), blah blah blah. Naturally we made 5 dozen chocolate and peanut chip cookies. No joke.
This is how we did...
We failed to melt the butter enough, and hence we broke the mixer that is clearly from the 80's. Then we stirred the rest of the way with a wooden spoon. Let me tell you, not fun. I'm sure there was a better solution...
Luckily for us, the boyfriend had some friends over at his house. The obvious solution to baking 5 dozen cookies at midnight? Taking those 5 dozen cookies to boys.

Save the Date
Not for a wedding (really), but for my hair. April 27th is National Donate Your Hair Day. I've been debating on whether to do it or not, and I thought that maybe if I officially put it out there, I'd be held accountable. Plus, just thinking about women who have been diagnosed with cancer or have other ailments that take away their hair and happiness with it is just another reminder of how fast and easy my hair will grow back. I'm hoping to channel Camilla Belle and cut something like her mid length bob.
The 5 Year Engagement is also coming out April 27th. Just in case I shed some tears after the sheers, a movie pick me up definitely sounds right up my alley. Who's down to donate their hair with me??
I'm so bad at this.
Blogging is something that I've always wanted to do, and yet I can't get into the groove of it! I've read all sort of tid bits about how to just keep writing, don't get discouraged, eventually I'll make it a habit to post everyday etc. etc. etc. So today I realized it's been 34 whole days since I've posted anything at all. If I may reiterate, I am so bad at this!
Well, just in case anyone is reading this, I did try the apple cider vinegar on my scalp. To my surprise it did work! But unfortunately it only works for about a week, and then I have to rinse with it all over again. As for the bad smelling hair after rinsing with the vinegar, it doesn't really happen to me. I was my hair normally after and there's only the faintest scent of vinegar for about half a day. Does anyone have any more suggestions for me? I'd love to hear about them and maybe try them out!
